Schaefer Media and Marketing is pleased to announce that it is a finalist in two categories for the 2013 Albany ADDY Awards to be held on March 1st.

The ‘Manliest Man Alive’ commercial allowed us to deliver a serious message in a memorable way, capturing listeners’ attention and redefining ‘manly’ men as those who are proactive when it comes to their health.” - Alexis Musto, Community Care Physicians.

Schaefer Media & Marketing was named a finalist for RADIO LOCAL CAMPAIGN, and RADIO LOCAL COMMERCIAL. Nominated for BEST RADIO LOCAL CAMPAIGN was the “Holiday” campaign for Exit 9 Wine & Liquor Warehouse. The campaign consisted of two commercials; “NOT QUITE RIGHT” and “BACK IN TIME”. The commercials, airing in the Albany, NY DMA, highlighted the size, selection, and number of registers featured in Exit 9 Wine & Liquor Warehouse in a creative, off beat way.

Schaefer Media & Marketing had previously won in this category in 2011 for the “HARVEY” AND “JANE” radio commercials. John Schaefer, Principal at Schaefer Media & Marketing said, “For the last seven years, Mark O’Callaghan, the owner of Exit 9 Wine & Liquor Warehouse, has given me the flexibility to step out of the box creatively. Whether it was the initial “BOTTLES” TV campaign, where not one word was spoken, through our “MARY” campaign and beyond, I think the results have helped drive sales and share in the wine & liquor category.”

For BEST LOCAL RADIO COMMERCIAL, Schaefer Media & Marketing’s work for Community Care Physicians, entitled “MANLIEST MAN ALIVE”, is the second nominee. The original concept, developed by Alexis Musto, Marketing Manager at Community Care Physicians, spoke to men in their late 40’s and 50’s about the importance of prostate screening. The commercials creatively suggested to men that they “MAN UP” and get checked. The commercial aired in the Albany, NY DMA. This marks the second time this client was nominated as a finalist. The “DOT LAUNCH” TV commercial produced by Schaefer Media & Marketing was a finalist in 2011.

According to Musto, “Our expert physicians stand behind the importance of PSA screening for men. The ‘Manliest Man Alive’ commercial allowed us to deliver a serious message in a memorable way, capturing listeners’ attention and redefining ‘manly’ men as those who are proactive when it comes to their health.”

All of the commercials were produced at Cotton Hill Studios in Albany with Aaron Scher, and several local voice actors. “Radio is still such a great medium, where you can let people use their imaginations more”, said Schaefer. “It’s so personal, and still effective.”
