DB Rich Productions is proud to announce that its full-length feature screenplay Through Maria's Eyes has been selected as one of the ten finalists to be presented at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, CA, running February 26 through March 10. The screenplay is based on the true story of the mother and aunt of David Rich, the head of DB Rich Productions. Set in Nazi occupied Budapest, 1944, Through Maria's Eyes follows the struggle of Gizella, a young Jewish woman who adopts the identity of a Catholic girl named Maria to keep her family safe. In the face of unimaginable horrors, Gizella must keep hope alive for her family, using all her wits to keep her family safe. Through Maria's Eyes is a character driven drama that shows how far one woman will go to keep her family from the Nazi menace that has appeared in her city. A story of the courage and strength required to maintain her identity as Maria surrounded by public executions and other atrocities.
DB Rich Productions is thrilled to be a part of the Cinequest Film Festival, one of the top-rated festivals for independent filmmakers. DB Rich Productions will be offering a book based on the film’s screenplay at the festival and plans to hold book signings. DVD copies of a segement of the interview of Gizella will be made available at the book signings. The company plans to get Through Maria's Eyes made into a movie in early 2014, and being chosen as a finalist at one of the premier independent film festivals in the country is a great step on the path to accomplishing this goal.
