WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) February 08, 2013
Nelson Migdal and Tara Gorman, shareholders in the Washington, D.C. office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will serve on the faculty of the inaugural Hospitality and Tourism Law Institute of the American University Washington College of Law. Migdal and Gorman were personally extended an invitation to serve on the faculty by Steven Shaprio, Director of the program.
The course curriculum will cover a broad range of complex legal issues and provide a fundamental overview of the hospitality and tourism practice. Students will also have the opportunity to experience behind-the-scene views of daily hotel activity during various site visits. In 1896, American University Washington College of Law became the first law school in the country founded by women.
“We are excited about the opportunity and the idea of inspiring students to pursue a rewarding career in the hospitality and tourism industries.” said Migdal.
Migdal, who is co-chair of the firm’s Hospitality Group, focuses his practice on hotel acquisitions, operations, development and finance, large mixed-use projects, hotel management agreements, licensing agreements, commercial real estate acquisition and sale, commercial leasing, and the representation of property owners on telecommunications matters.
Gorman, a member of the firm’s Real Estate practice group, focuses on general commercial real estate transactions, including commercial real estate acquisitions and sales, hotel acquisitions, operations, development and finance, office leasing, various financing transactions involving lender and borrower representation and telecommunications, and access matters on behalf of building owners and managers.
Greenberg Traurig’s Hospitality Group advises developers, owners and operators of hotel, resort and club properties, as well as governments, private government corporations, governmental and private financial institutions, and financial consultants on virtually all aspects of their involvement in the hospitality industry in the United States, the Americas and overseas. The group publishes the Hospitality Law Check-In blog which provides owners, investors and operators of hotel and resort properties a place to take the industry's pulse - a source for understanding the trends, deals and cases that are shaping the marketplace.
