Seattle, WA (PRWEB) February 12, 2013
The Military and Veterans Discount Center (MVDC) crossed a milestone on Tuesday February 5th 2013 when Craftsmen Home Improvements in Edina, Minnesota became the 300,000th business location to enter their discounts for military personnel and veterans. “When we started this directory a year and a half ago, we really thought it was going to take about 10 years to get to 1 million business locations listing military and veteran discounts. At the current pace we are witnessing, I believe we can get to one million listings by end of this year” said Terrence Thomas, CEO and Co-Founder of the Military and Veterans Discount Center (MVDC).
Not only are businesses realizing the value of the current crop of men and women in uniform, but older service men and women are now able to experience veteran discounts. Recently, Kansas and Iowa have joined 28 states that have veteran designation on drivers licenses. 12 states have pending legislation and 10 states are in the formative process of adding legislation. This is up from last year, where there were only 20 states with legislation or pending legislation. “As states continue to add veteran designations on drivers licenses, we feel it is imperative that businesses do a better job of training their employees on the different classifications of service personnel” added Thomas. “Military personnel and veterans are an extremely brand loyal group, so positive first impressions have a lasting effect on this group”.
MVDC encourages businesses to continue to promote their military discounts by any and all means. A recent survey by MVDC revealed the top feature of the site was visitors were able to obtain veteran discount information from their local small businesses. To capture that spirit of connection with small business and to motivate all businesses, MVDC will allow businesses to add their discounts at no charge from now until February 28, 2013. It is MVDC's small way of thanking those who support those that serve.
