Hidden Hearing has published the case study of Stockport customer, Florence Fawcett, on it's website - detailing how her treatment from Hidden Hearing allowed her to enjoy life again.

Florence – 66 a grandmother of 4 and a great-grandmother of 3, feels she is now able to live life to the full after finding a solution to her life long hearing difficulties.

Florence first noticed her hearing problems when she was around 13 years old, and with her teachers being very dismissive she was often left feeling isolated and miserable. Finally one teacher noticed that Florence was suffering with poor hearing and was in need of some help.

Florence told us “I couldn’t be myself; I felt people thought I was stupid because I wouldn’t catch what they’d say, and those who did try to help by talking very slow and loud only made me feel worse!”

Since the age of 15 Florence has had bulky hearing aids and also many operations on her ears, some more successful than others. Finally she noticed her self-confidence had become so low because she was really missing out on life and avoiding social situations. So she decided to take action by making an appointment with Hidden Hearing in Stockport.

Florence now has comfort in the knowledge that she has the support she needs for her hearing requirements. She has a hearing aid that is much more discreet in size and has improved her life dramatically. She said “ It has changed my life. I’m more active and involved in my community and I love spending time and having fun with all my grandchildren.”

With more than 40 years’ experience in treating hearing loss, Hidden Hearing is entrusted with the care of more than 100,000 people each year. The firm has 84 hearing centres across the UK, all catering for a range of needs and budgets. Specialising in hearing tests and hearing aids, the company also offer a variety of hearing aid accessories and in 2005, became the first dedicated hearing retailer to be recognised as an Investor in People.
