"Soccer is the fastest growing sport in the United States and the opportunity to build a soccer-specific site is huge as most sports media outlets haven’t give soccer the place it deserves,” said Miguel Ramirez, Soccerly’s co-founder.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 12, 2013

Underdog Global Sports, a digital media company developing sports ventures for the U.S. and Latin America markets, announced the launch of soccerly.com, a site dedicated to U.S. soccer fans.

The open platform offers users, both experienced and amateur fútbol lovers, the opportunity to write and share content about their favorite leagues, teams, players and events around the soccer globe.

"Soccer is the fastest growing sport in the United States and the opportunity to build a soccer-specific site is huge as most sports media outlets haven’t give soccer the place it deserves,” said Miguel Ramirez, Soccerly’s co-CEO. We believe that our previous experience in developing a soccer site combined with the enthusiasm for soccer in the U.S. will help us create a new success in a market that embraces soccer as it has never done before.”

Fans become the “real stars” of this platform as they have the unique opportunity to report what’s happening in the soccer world in combination with content, statistics and special features curated by Soccerly’s staff. Crowdsourcing lies at the heart of Soccerly as users will find an attractive way to contribute to the ranks of writers, enabling them to earn points and badges.

Soccerly offers visitors and writers a unique experience with an edgy and easy-to-use platform that includes "your fix," a tool that allows users to customize the site to their own preferences. New features will be released on a weekly basis.

The team is lead by digital entrepreneurs, Miguel Ramirez and Patricio Villalobos, who co-founded, developed and grew mediotiempo.com in to Mexico’s largest sports site. In 2010, the duo sold it to Time Warner. In addition, Soccerly’s talented group of developers, designers and editors have worked diligently to build the most popular web and mobile soccer destination in the U.S.

Within three weeks of its launch, the site has already accumulated more than 20,000 unique visitors and receives an average of 20 content submissions per day from fans on the site. Soccerly currently has a team of 15 staff members who primarily work in California and also employs a development team based in Mexico City.

"We launched three weeks ago and we’re really encouraged by how the site has been embraced by fans. Our goal is to attract a significant user base in the short-term and 2013 presents great opportunities since the World Cup will take place the following year. We have high hopes of becoming popular with fans and writers who demonstrate why soccer is a booming sport in the U.S.,” said Patricio Villalobos, Soccerly’s co-CEO.
