Waterfront Properties and Club Communities isn’t the only thing synonymous with the town of Jupiter. So is famed actor Burt Reynolds.

Reynolds’ roots in the area date back more than 30 years, when he bought a 160-acre ranch on a scenic piece of Jupiter land for sale. The Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater, located around the corner from Waterfront Properties’ main offices, featured stellar shows that attracted movie stars and international entertainers – and shined a spotlight on the small seaside community between Palm Beach Gardens to the south and Tequesta to the north.

Then, there is the iconic Burt Reynolds & Friends Museum that stood next to the Indiantown Road bridge for more than 10 years. The museum has relocated to temporary facilities in Tequesta as a capital campaign is underway to build a new one that permanently will house Reynolds’ lifetime of cinematic memorabilia. The old structure was demolished in 2012, to make room for an exciting development called Harbourside. Harbourside will transform a piece of Intracoastal Waterway property in Jupiter into a hip stretch of boutique shops, chic restaurants and boat slips that will make the town an even more desirable place to live, work and play.

Jupiter resident Rob Thomson, managing partner of Waterfront Properties, co-founded the licensed brokerage 20 years ago and has become the Realtor of choice for those looking for homes in communities such as Admiral’s Cove, PGA National and Indian Hills. The company has a team of more than 60 agents who specialize in sales in northern Palm Beach and southern Martin counties.

Two days prior to Reynolds’ lucky-numbered birthday, the star was smooth and smiling as he graciously accepted a lifetime-achievement award from the historic Lake Worth Playhouse during its Diamond Jubilee celebration. Reynolds learned the art of acting on the playhouse stage while attending Palm Beach Junior College in Lake Worth under the tutelage of Watson B. Duncan III.
