It has improved my life no end. My wife is much happier as she doesn’t have to repeat herself; work and social occasions are much easier and even my golf has improved

Hidden Hearing have published the case study of Lichfield resident Ray Scambler who confronted his worries of hearing loss head-on and discovered the secret that provided him with a better quality of life.
Ray, 58, a transport manager, is a keen golfer and didn’t realise just how much his hearing had been affecting his work and home life. He knew it was not perfect and admitted he had struggled with work meetings and general conversations. However it was only when it became an ongoing joke with his family having to always speak up around him that he began to realise just how much of a problem it had become. It was Ray’s wife who decided to help and take action when she booked him in for a hearing test.
Ray said: “In meetings I was always asking people to speak-up although I’d be afraid to speak up myself and I’d even refer to other people’s notes to check what I’d missed. I didn’t realise how bad it was until I had a test and I’d already missed out on so much”.
After a visit to the Hearing Centre in Lichfield Ray gained a good understanding of his hearing loss and how to tackle it to help improve his life.
Ray said after he was fitted with his hearing aids: “It has improved my life no end. My wife is much happier as she doesn’t have to repeat herself; work and social occassions are much easier and even my golf has improved!”.
