Attorney Terrance D. Carroll, with the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, will be a panelist at the presentation titled “Beyond Conflict or Cooperation: Black-Latino Political Relations” on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Tivoli 444.
The panel will discuss the implications for, and the state of, Black-Latino relations in Denver by local leaders from Denver's Black and Latino communities, including Carroll, a former Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives for the State of Colorado, former mayoral candidate James Mejia, and Colorado State Rep. Jovan Melton. The panel is preceded by a discussion from Profs. Rodney E. Hero (UC-Berkeley) and Robert R. Preuhs (MSU-Denver) on compelling argument for rethinking how Black and Latino elites interact based on the first systematic study of these two groups' relations in national politics.
In his legal practice, Carroll advises public and private clients on the governmental and legislative issues that impact their business. He regularly represents such clients before legislative and executive bodies at the local, state and federal levels. Carroll is an active member of the Denver community. He is a member of the board of directors of the Children’s Hospital Colorado and the National Western Stockshow. He is also a member of the board of trustees to MSU-Denver and an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
Based out of the firm’s Denver office, Carroll focuses his legal practice on corporate and securities issues, governmental affairs and global energy and infrastructure. He received his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, a Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology, and a B.A. from Morehouse College.
