Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 20, 2013
Healthcare Solutions, the parent company of Cypress Care, ScripNet and Procura Management, announced today that its subsidiary, Cypress Care, has once again been awarded Workers’ Compensation and Property and Casualty Pharmacy Benefit Management Accreditation from URAC, a Washington, DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. The accreditation is effective December 1, 2012 through December 1, 2015.
“Cypress Care was among the first workers’ compensation pharmacy benefit managers to receive workers’ compensation pharmacy accreditation,” said David A. George, CEO of Healthcare Solutions. “URAC’s resounding confirmation of our company’s re-accreditation further demonstrates the industry-leading position of our pharmacy management program.”
Cypress Care has been URAC accredited since 2009 and for over a decade the company has provided customized, clinically-based pharmacy benefit management solutions that specifically address the unique challenges associated with claims management within workers’ compensation.
“By applying for and receiving Workers’ Compensation and Property and Casualty Pharmacy Benefit Management Accreditation, Cypress Care has demonstrated a commitment to quality health care,” said Alan P. Spielman, URAC president and CEO. “Quality health care is crucial to our nation’s welfare and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards.”
URAC is an independent, nonprofit healthcare accrediting organization dedicated to promoting health care quality through accreditation, certification and commendation. The organization offers the largest array of accreditation programs in the United States assessing health plan operations, including but not limited to, network operations, health care practitioner credentialing systems and medical management functions.
In addition to the URAC pharmacy accreditation, Cypress Care also holds a SSAE16 accreditation (formerly SAS 70) and complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements for healthcare data privacy and protection. In 2011, Healthcare Solutions’ subsidiary, Procura Management, received Case Management accreditation from URAC. URAC’s Case Management Accreditation standards require companies to establish a process to assess, plan and implement case management interventions.
