Law practice is constantly evolving, and lawyers who continue their legal education have an edge in the courtroom. That's why attorney Greg Stokes, co-founder of Stokes & Kopitsky, PA, made sure to attend two recent law workshops – and he says they delivered even more than he could have expected.
“After recently attending workshops sponsored by The Trial Lawyers College and The American Association for Justice, I'll never practice law the same way again,” Stokes said. “The seminars sharpened my skills, renewed my spirit, and gave me an extra dose of courage to fight the good fight for my clients.”
Stokes is a personal injury attorney, helping the victims of accidents win compensation for their injuries or damages, which he says requires him to be one step ahead of corporate lawyers.
“Often we're facing giant insurance companies or other corporations,” he said. “I constantly educate myself so that we know all of their tactics and how to counter them.”
Both workshops focused on advanced strategy for specific stages of a case. The Trial Lawyers College workshop, “Discovering the Story,” focused on tactics for getting crucial information pre-trial. “Advanced Depositions College,” offered by the American Association for Justice, taught strategies for successfully getting testimony from witnesses in deposition.
“Getting the chance to see how other lawyers handle these steps is invaluable,” Stokes said. “It's an opportunity to see into another lawyer's playbook, and absorb the winning tactics they've developed over the years.”
Stokes says those tactics are already helping his clients.
