Lifts specialist Stiltz is delighted to announce it has added special new features to its website that allows visitors to view some of the installations that they have carried out over the past 12 months.
The Berkshire domestic lifts company decided to introduce the new pages that include images so that potential customers can get a feel online for how a lift may look in their home. They also include customer feedback in the form of a case study giving visitors to the website the chance to see how a real-life lifts project has been conceived.
It also gives Stiltz, who was invited by the Ideal Home Show as part of its ‘Home of the Future’ at Earl’s Court in London last year, the opportunity to highlight the differences between the models from their home lifts range, including the standard Duo lifts, Vista lifts and Trio lifts, and how they can be installed in various rooms in a house.
The new installations page can be found via a new-look home lifts page with extra detail on each Stiltz product and by view our installations further down the left-hand side of the page.
Stiltz Director of Business Development, Lachlan Faulkner, said: “The new website features provide more detail on the individual home lifts that Stiltz offers with beautiful examples of where we’ve fitted them.
“Stiltz has carried out basic retrofits, cupboard to cupboard installs and many other applications. We believe the new installations pages will help show people how a Stiltz lift really can be fitted just about anywhere in the home.”
One of Stiltz’s first installations of the Stiltz Duo Lift in the United Kingdom was at the home of Mr and Mrs Major in Berkshire and was a basic retrofit.
Betty Major, 84, suffers from arthritis and was finding the stairs too much due to a bad knee. With the help of her husband, Don, it was sometimes taking up to 30 minutes to get to the top. Not interested in a stairlift because of its obtrusive nature, Mr Major decided that a domestic lift may be a better solution and found Stiltz via an internet search.
When the Stiltz team visited the house it was quickly decided that the utility room would be the perfect place for a home lift to be installed as it would go directly up into the corner of the couple’s bedroom. The room was just one centimetre wider than the space needed for the lift – so it was a perfect fit!
All that was required was the cutting and trimming of the appropriate aperture – in this case the ceiling and the cutting back of the carpet in the bedroom. Because Stiltz’s lifts have no pits, shafts or drive mechanisms to be created or mounted, it was the ideal solution for Mr and Mrs Major.
Mr Major, 80 said: “My wife could not get up the stairs unaided due to her bad knee so after talking to a couple of my pals I looked into the possibility of home lifts. I found Stiltz high up on the listings on the internet and saw that they were nice and local so I phoned them up."
“Most people have heard of the Stannah stairlift but we wanted something that didn’t disfigure our home. The Stiltz lifts guys came over and we immediately decided that the utility room would be the best place for the lift to go as it was directly below our bedroom."
“I would have paid whatever for the lift within reason as something had to be done to help my wife but we paid a fair price and it covered all our needs. It took Stiltz a day and a half to install the lift and we’re very satisfied with it."
“Now all Betty has to do is simply open the door, pull the lever and press the button. The lift takes 10 to 15 seconds to get up to the bedroom and has lots of safety features. It is also very quiet too. It’s absolutely wonderful and my wife couldn’t be without it now.”
ABOUT STILTZ LIFTS
Stiltz Lifts UK is the sole supplier, manufacturer and installer of Stiltz home lifts. Based in Wokingham, Berkshire, the company was founded in the United Kingdom and has a manufacturing facility in China.
Stiltz gained its experience designing domestic lifts and elevators in Australia for more than two decades. The lifts are through-floor and fit in the home - the first of their kind to be available in the UK.
The company developed the lift to make life easier for elderly or disabled people and help them to stay in their own homes for longer when stairs become too much. Unlike a stairlift, the Stiltz lift carries two people comfortably and is a hassle-free and cost-effective alternative.
The Stiltz Home Lifts range includes the standard Duo Lift, the Vista Lift and the Trio Lift. Stiltz’s lifts do not need fixing to walls and can be fitted almost anywhere in the home with no major building work. They have the smallest footprint for a residential lift on the market.
The lifts are also the quietest as they do not use hydraulics and are instead powered a unique electric motor drive system that is located discretely in the top of the lift car.
All Stiltz domestic lifts are powered by a simple normal 13-amp power socket like any other household appliance which uses less power than an electric kettle.
No planning permission is needed for Stiltz lifts – just a standard building notice application. VAT exemption and grants from the Disabilities Facilities Grant are also available.
