Attorney Joshua Stein was featured at a Political Action Training class for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA). The classed, “Political Action Training: Advocacy Beyond the Courtroom,” was offered to NYSTLA members only and included free Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit. Mr. Stein has extensive experience as a personal injury attorney. As an instructor, Stein taught lawyers how to be effective advocates outside of the courtroom. The course was designed to help advocates represent their clients more effectively and involved discussion of lobbying laws and recent attacks on the civil justice system.
The Political Action Training course counted as one free CLE credit. CLE is designed to edcuate professional lawyers after they are admitted to the bar. Many times, CLE credit is required for attorneys to maintain their license to practice law. CLE programs are administered through the state supreme courts and CLE boards. Specifically, the class focused on the legislative priorities of NYSTLA, such as advancing automobile fairness, protecting the NY scaffold law and promoting patient safety. The class was held on Tuesday, January 29th, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and was designed to bring together NYSTLA members and staff to prepare them for another year of political battles and victories.
In addition to Attorney Stein, the Political Action Training course featured a number of prominent legal and political figures, including Assemblyman Francisco Moya, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens), NYSLTA President Michael E. Joshua Stein is a founding member and the vice president of Greenberg & Stein, PC. Stein. In 1991, he graduated from Boston University with an undergraduate degree in International Relations. Since then, he has called the New York Metropolitan area his home. Attorney Stein earned a law degree from the Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1994.
