“Working with Vanna on her signature yarn lines has been an extraordinary opportunity to bring this mission to a whole new level.”

Lion Brand Yarn President and CEO David Blumenthal and celebrity spokesperson Vanna White recently toured St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where they presented $1,000,000 to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude. The Vanna White line of Lion Brand Yarn has been donating to St. Jude over the last six years.
“As a fifth generation family business, we have always believed in donating to and being involved in charitable causes,” said Blumenthal. “Working with Vanna on her signature yarn lines has been an extraordinary opportunity to bring this mission to a whole new level.”
Since 2007, Lion Brand has helped to support the lifesaving work of St. Jude by donating a portion of the proceeds of all of Vanna’s yarn lines including: Vanna’s Choice, Vanna’s Glamour, Vanna’s Sequins and Vanna’s Choice Baby.
“When Lion Brand approached me about working with them on my own line of yarn, it was important to me that a portion of the proceeds go to a cause dear to my heart, so we chose St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said White. “It is so incredible and gratifying to me that the total we have donated to date has reached this amazing milestone. We will continue to donate, doing our part to help so many kids and families.”
While Vanna White and David Blumenthal were at the hospital for the presentation they also spent time with St. Jude patients and their families. Vanna and David participated in a special interactive art activity with yarn donated by Lion Brand and Vanna demonstrated techniques of crocheting to participants.
Thanks in part to the financial support of donors and organizations like Lion Brand, St. Jude patients continue to receive exceptional care, and no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
