The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) announced the selection of the four finalist teams for the New York Regional Final of the CFA Institute Research Challenge®. The student teams will present their research to a panel of senior Wall Street executives on March 4, 2013.
The final four teams for the New York Regional Final are:
1. Fordham University: Ken Boswell, Paul Kearney, Artem Khlevner, Jonathan LaSala, Elaine Lou
2. Montclair State University: Khalil Abdulnour, Mariusz Brzyzek, Maximilian Felderhoff, Richard Jimenez, Vilma Solano Jarquin
3. Pace University: Robert DeNotaristefani, Michael Miller, Justin Ortega, Ning Tian, Philipp Zahn
4. Seton Hall University: Todd Marco, Jason Marshall, Thomas Mazzeo, Lindsey Puliti, Rachel Rasmussen
Each of the four teams will have 20 minutes to convince the panel of the merits of the investment recommendations found in their written reports. The winner will advance to the Global Final in London, UK, on April 12, 2013.
To reach the finals, these four teams bested students from 18 top area business schools. The field was narrowed down to the Final Four on the basis of written reports and presentations on subject company, Microsoft Corporation. The Challenge is a global competition which tests the analytic, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills of university students. Local CFA societies host and launch local competitions involving teams of business and finance students from participating universities who work directly with a local company in researching and preparing a company analysis.
