Wargin Wines’ 2010 Big & Beautiful California Red takes TWO Best in Class Awards in San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition for Italian Varietals and Label Design

The “2010 Big & Beautiful California Red” is the signature blend by local winemaker Mikael Wargin of Wargin Wines. The Italian varietal blend of Montepulciano, Zinfandel, Alicante Bouschet and Mourvedre won BEST IN CLASS for Italian varietals under $24.99.

The “2010 Big & Beautiful” label also won BEST IN CLASS label design for the whimsical category.

San Francisco Chronicle Best in Class Winners

Wargin Wines opened their doors December 1st, 2012 in the Santa Cruz Winemaker Studio located at 18 Hangar Way, Ste C, Watsonville, CA 95076. Winemaker Mikael Wargin worked his way up in winemaking working for Armida Winery, Burrell School, and MJA Vineyards prior to opening his own location with wife Denise Wargin. The 2010 vintage includes Big & Beautiful California Red, Petite Sirah, Montepulciano, Alicante Bouschet, and Late Harvest Zinfandel.
