Democrat Doug Shreffler to make official bid for Oval Office

My allegiance rests in the American people, and not any political party or ideal, while I maintain my democratic composure.

Retiring U.S. envoy for the CIA and dark horse Democrat Doug Shreffler has officially announced his candidacy for President of the United States in 2016.

Positioning himself as a figure of optimism and cross-party unification, Shreffler is embarking on an aggressive grassroots campaign to spread the word about his candidacy. His announcement comes early into President Barack Obama’s second term, giving the relatively unknown hopeful time to amass the resources and public recognition required for a serious run at the Oval Office.

“With all of the partisan bickering we see coming out of Washington each and every day, America needs a political outsider right now,” said Shreffler. “My allegiance rests in the American people, and not any political party or ideal, while I maintain my democratic composure. It’s going to be difficult getting my message across, but it’s not impossible. That’s why we have to get an early start and build this campaign from the ground up.”

Shreffler’s bid for the presidency is a continuation of his lifelong service to the United States. He has been a civil servant as a CIA and US envoy with G4 Classification and the code name “Strong Ramrod.” This experience has largely helped to shape his political aspirations, providing him with a detailed background in foreign affairs and instilling a sense of duty to all those who were either injured or lost their lives in service to America. Additionally, Shreffler attended Wentworth Military Academy.

The Port Hueneme, California resident’s campaign is the definition of grassroots, as he even coded his own campaign website. However, he does not hold back on addressing the most important political messages of our time. One issue that lies at the heart of Shreffler’s campaign is the crippling polarization that has rendered some of the highest offices of the federal government utterly ineffective.

“The people need to be able to trust their government, and that has to start at the White House,” said Shreffler, “Bringing this nation back to its rightful greatness requires that we put an end to the shameful partisan squabbling. I will work with both sides of the aisle, both Democrat and Republican, to ensure that the American people are fairly represented and properly served by their elected officials.”

Shreffler’s unique perspective—rooted in his strength in foreign affairs rather than a career in politics—will allow him to bring together people from the lower, middle and upper classes in true unity, while maintaining the values of the Founding Fathers.

“By electing me in 2016, the people of the United States will finally have a real voice,” Shreffler said. “Your vote will determine the outcome, so vote wisely.”
