Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) February 14, 2013
Morgan & Morgan is pleased to announce that attorneys Matt Morgan and John Dill have obtained a $47.5 million verdict in a motorcycle accident case.
The court awarded $7.5 million in medical bills and lost wages and $40 million for losses including mental anguish, disability, physical impairment and disfigurement, and pain and suffering.
“Our client’s injuries were catastrophic,” said Mr. Dill. “I think the jury understood that, and acknowledged the severity of the case in delivering their verdict. Both Matt and I are very pleased with the outcome of this case.”
The plaintiff, Steven Davis, claimed that he was riding his motorcycle on Semoran Boulevard when he was hit head-on by two teenagers driving a pickup truck in the wrong direction. According to the complaint, Davis suffered several serious, life-changing injuries, including broken arms, collarbone, and pelvis; a shattered jaw; and a collapsed lung. The incident also left Davis unable to father children, the suit alleged.
“Our client has waited a long time to receive justice in this case,” said Mr. Morgan. “The jury’s verdict represents closure for him in this matter. Now he can move on with his life knowing the defendants have been held accountable for their unlawful behavior.”
Mr. Morgan has handled multiple high profile cases and has appeared regularly as a commentator on a number of national television news programs. He has been referenced by prominent print publications, including The Wall Street Journal and USA Today, for his work.
Mr. Dill is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer with the Florida Bar and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has received Martindale-Hubbell’s esteemed AV rating and was named to the 2012 Edition of Best Lawyers in America for his practice in medical malpractice and personal injury litigation.
