As one of the leading vanadium chemical manufacturers in the U.S., Riverside Specialty Chemicals is announcing that it has been audited and approved for ISO 9001 certification. The company passed inspection on February 8th, 2013 and expects to receive its certificate of compliance in four to six weeks.

ISO 9001:2008 is a set of globally-recognized standards and practices related to quality management systems. 2008 is the latest version of that certification. Riverside Specialty Chemicals’ owner James Bergoffen says, “This has been quite an undertaking for us but as Riverside already operates in a manner more or less as prescribed by ISO regulations, it was more a matter of formalizing our procedures than in making any fundamental changes to our operations.”

Riverside Specialty Chemicals produces high-purity vanadium chemicals and other specialty chemicals at its Delaware plant. To prepare for the inspections, the company completed all of the required preliminary work in just over six months. “In the interim, we have already been audited by several major companies and have been approved as qualified suppliers in all cases,” says Bergoffen.

Riverside has been globally recognized for its high-quality procedures and standards. Its customers include major oil and gas companies, NOX, SO2, SCR, CO2, and H2S abatement catalyst manufacturers and ceramic color producers. The plant also produces ultra-pure electrolyte for the new vanadium redox battery technology. Riverside prides itself on consistent high purity production, responsive customer support, and competitive pricing.
