Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) February 14, 2013
As part of its Western Gives Back program, Western contributed $5,000 to help feed hungry students and families in Long Beach, CA. Food for Kids is a Volunteer Center program that delivers non-perishable food to Title One elementary school children in the Compton and Long Beach Unified School Districts. While the children of these families typically receive subsidized school meals during the week, the Food for Kids program is for the purpose of subsidizing weekend meals for these disadvantaged families. On a weekly basis, Volunteer Center volunteers assemble and deliver bags of groceries to the students at their schools. Each bag is filled with non-perishable food, such as, pasta, tuna, oatmeal, soup, applesauce, rice, beans, canned beef, peas and cereals.
“We’re extremely proud and excited to support a great program servicing the hunger needs of children and providing them with the nourishment they need.” said Brad Kaiser, Sr. Managing Director of Western International Securities.
Don Bizub, CEO of Western International Securities said “We created the Western Gives Back Program to help support organizations, such as the Food for Kids Program in Long Beach, CA. Our Program benefits local and national non-profit organizations that are chosen by Western team members.”
