“We are so excited to be a part of this new era in space travel and look forward to welcoming the next generation of space travelers to our Inn.”

The Inn and Spa at Loretto, managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, is pleased to announce a new room package celebrating Spaceport America, the world’s first commercial space launch facility, located in Southern New Mexico. The facility will soon provide commercial space travel flights for everyday astronauts who have reserved a spot on Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo space shuttle.

Returning astronauts and space enthusiasts alike will enjoy overnight suite accommodations as well as the following features of the Welcome Back to Earth Package:

  • Native Reflections Signature Spa Treatment: A 110-Minute Ritual treatment consisting of a sage clearing and blessing followed by a bath soak and Sacred Stone Massage. Designed to help you leave behind the stresses of the day and reconnect with the Earth and oneself.
  • “The Buzz” Cocktail at Turndown: The same cocktail of grapefruit juice, Grand Marnier, rosewater and champagne that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin sipped upon their return to earth.
  • Chocolate Space shuttle: A shuttle-inspired sweet amenity created by award-winning Chef Andrea Clover of the Inn at Loretto.

“The passing of Senate Bill 240 brings New Mexico’s commercial space flight industry one step closer to reality,” said Dana Ortega, Marketing Director at The Inn and Spa at Loretto. “We are so excited to be a part of this new era in space travel and look forward to welcoming the next generation of space travelers to our Inn.”

Recent legislation passed in the New Mexico Senate expands liability exemptions for the commercial space industry and extends the contract between Spaceport America and Virgin Galactic through 2021.

This package starts at $555/night and is available for purchase online at http://www.innatloretto.com (promo code PEARTH) or via phone at 866-582-1646 now through December of 2013. Booking must be completed at least 24 hours in advance and valid for new reservations only; price varies.
