San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 14, 2013
HarperCollins announces a two-book deal with CEO of Zuckerberg Media and former Facebook Marketing Director, Randi Zuckerberg. Mark Tauber, SVP and Publisher of HarperOne in San Francisco, negotiated a two-book deal with WME for North American rights to Zuckerberg’s first adult nonfiction book, Dot Complicated, and a HarperCollins Children’s picture book. Both titles will be released in Fall 2013.
Expanding upon Zuckerberg’s newly launched modern lifestyle newsletter and blog, also titled Dot Complicated, the adult non-fiction and children’s picture books will be released simultaneously. In the adult nonfiction book Dot Complicated, Zuckerberg will share her personal and professional story and the entrepreneurial journey she has been on through her time at Facebook and beyond, including her work as a television correspondent and producer, balancing her career with motherhood and launching Zuckerberg Media. The book will also address the multifaceted complications of our socially transparent world today, including issues of privacy, social identity, authenticity, crowd sourcing and the future of social change. In an enhanced e-book format, Dot Complicated will feature innovative and engaging interactive components, including a platform for crowd sourced stories and social media integration.
“We are thrilled and honored to be publishing one of today’s most important voices on both the past and future of media,” says HarperOne SVP & Publisher Mark Tauber. “Randi Zuckerberg has put herself on the front lines of some of the most important issues we face as individuals and a society as we dive deeply into the risks and rewards of our highly connected world.”
Says Kate Jackson, SVP and Editor-in-Chief of HarperCollins Children’s Books, “We are delighted that Randi Zuckerberg will be sharing her unique experience and vision with the youngest readers.”
Randi Zuckerberg served as the Marketing Director for Facebook for six years, where she struck groundbreaking deals with ABC (for the first online-offline presidential debates) and CNN (to cover Barack Obama’s inauguration). She was ranked among one of the “50 Digital Power Players” by the Hollywood Reporter. She is the CEO and Founder of Zuckerberg Media, a media and production company of the future, and Editor-in-Chief of Dot Complicated, a modern lifestyle weekly newsletter and blog.
"Technology has changed virtually every part of our lives, resulting in a modern, digital society that feels a lot like the wild, wild west," said Randi Zuckerberg. "I am thrilled to be working with HarperCollins to share some of my own crazy experiences on the front lines of social media, and to inspire people of all ages to embrace technology, as well as the new set of social norms that come along with it."
