A third-party Internet security firm has validated that the V-Rooms application is in compliance with FDA HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations.

V-Rooms announced today that a third-party security compliance firm has determined that the V-Rooms Virtual Data Room application is compliant with HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations as a part of their annual audit. Being rated HIPAA compliant allows V-Rooms Virtual Data Rooms, whose business is primarily in mergers and acquisitions, FINRA compliant online private placement memorandum distribution, and legal document management, to continue to expand its market into biotech, pharmaceutical and FDA clinical trial secure document management.

“We specialize in protecting confidential information, as that information is shared over the Internet between collaborative parties.” said Dan Bradbary, CEO of V-Rooms, “A governmental clinical trial organization lists 140,426 active studies with locations in all 50 states and in 182 countries. We will be well positioned to assist with these trials, especially those studies taking place outside the country on behalf of US based organizations.”

V-Rooms Virtual Data Rooms expects to see continued growth in 2013 within the life science and medical research community as it continues to tailor its product towards their needs. In 2012, V-Rooms expanded its product to include features tailor-made for accounting firms, such as having a single-login for multiple document repositories -- one for each client -- and also saw a 67% increase in corporate clients.

“We’re excited about being approved as HIPAA compliant and look forward to 2013 growth in our medical research sector similar in size to our 2012 growth in clients using us for internal corporate needs,” said Karen Perkins, President of V-Rooms. “However, being that HIPAA compliancy necessitates that an outside auditor declares a company as meeting those requirements, we’ve certainly been compliant for a very long time.”

V-Rooms was also listed as compliant regarding both user roles and patient-based security, including parameter manipulation, URL manipulation and privilege escalation. V-Rooms’ SSL encryption and encryption of data during transmission were fully validated.
