“If there is a policy decision of national importance to be made, Meyers & Associates is poised to influence that decision,” Larry D. Meyers, president of Meyers & Associates
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) February 20, 2013
Meyers & Associates, a Washington, D.C.-based government relations and business consulting firm, has expanded its capabilities by welcoming three new senior associates. Joining the firm are David Davis, former chief-of-staff to now-retired U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), David Collins, a 25-year veteran of Cotton Council International and a South Asia specialist, and Tim Richardson, an environmental and conservation expert.
“If there is a policy decision of national importance to be made, Meyers & Associates is poised to influence that decision,” Larry D. Meyers, president of Meyers & Associates, said. “Just as D.C. evolves, our firm has successfully done the same since 1981 giving us the leverage of institutional knowledge coupled with a respected, experienced team. I am delighted to welcome David Davis, David Collins and Tim Richardson to the Meyers & Associates’ team and know our clients will benefit immediately from their expertise.”
David Davis brings more than 14 years of experience working in the Senate to Meyers & Associates. In addition to his service with Sen. Hutchison, he was senior advisor on the Senate Commerce Committee and chief-of-staff to the vice chair of the Republican Conference. Prior to his Senate service, Davis was a career U.S. Army field artillery officer and a foreign area officer specializing in Korea and Northeast Asia, serving in Korea for seven years. Davis also brings senior-level corporate experience to Meyers & Associates, having served from 2004–2009 as senior vice president and corporate secretary for ChoicePoint, Inc., formerly the nation’s leading information, analytics and risk management company. Davis is a graduate of the Korean Army College, Mercer University in Atlanta and Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
David Collins joined Meyers & Associates after serving as Assistant Executive Director and Director for South Asia with Cotton Council International (CCI) for 25 years where he helped create a presence for the U.S. cotton industry in India and Pakistan. Collins continues to manage CCI's "Cotton's Revolutions" initiative, a virtual think tank developed to explore and project changes over the next 20 years in the structure and operation of the global cotton, textile, and retail environment. A West Texas native, Collins is a graduate of Texas A&M University. He received a master’s degree in international affairs with a concentration in science and technology policy from The George Washington University.
Tim Richardson joined Meyers & Associates to assist the firm with BP Deepwater Horizon projects for the economic development and environmental sustainability of Gulf of Mexico cities, counties and port authorities. He worked on the Exxon Valdez oil spill restoration on behalf of fourteen Gulf of Alaska Native corporations, tribes and non-profit organizations. Projects promoted by Richardson’s Alaska work received more than half of the available funds from Exxon’s $1 billion settlement. Prior to joining Meyers & Associates, Richardson spent eight years as government affairs director for the American Land Conservancy, and remains the Washington, D.C., liaison for Wildlife Forever, the non-profit conservation arm of the North American Hunting Club and North American Fishing Club. Richardson was the founding editor of the Quorum Report and editor of The Busby Papers, published by Lyndon B. Johnson’s longest-serving aide Horace W. Busby. Richardson’s Capitol Hill experience includes serving as special assistant to Sen. Lloyd Bentsen and administrative assistant to Rep. Greg Laughlin. He is an Honors College graduate of Michigan State University.
“Considering our firms’ strong presence in state, local, national and international affairs, Davis, Collins and Richardson bring added expertise, strengthening the ability of our clients to impact decision-making in Washington and in the international economy,” Meyers said. “Their fresh insight and strong backgrounds give our firm the ability to ensure our clients are influencers on the issues most important to them.”
