AOA announces plans for “Insurance Agency Risk Management: A Comprehensive Guide to Avoiding E&O Claims - Book Two.”
AgentsofAmerica.ORG (AOA) announced today that the development of Book Two in its Insurance Agents & Brokers Risk Management Program series is well under way with a planned release date of April 15, 2013. The book, which will be released in both hard copy and as an e-Book, will contain 19 distinct chapters that clearly identify the E&O issues and exposures related to the typical new and renewal sales process within insurance agencies. This book will represent a collaborative effort by top E&O insurance attorneys and experts from across the country. Check out the Table of Contents and Authors.

As with the first book, the people involved with the second are experts in the field, and their knowledge is such a tremendous resource for AoA to draw upon” says Matthew Marrone, a partner in Goldberg Segalla’s Philadelphia and Princeton offices, where he co-chairs the firm’s professional liability practices focused on lawyers and insurance agents and brokers.
Professor James Kallman of St. Edwards’ University will serve as the Editor in Chief and Curtis Pearsall, Pearsall Associates Inc. is in charge of development and is also a contributing author.
The AOA’s Editorial Board for Book Two includes Minneapolis E&O defense attorney Britton Weimer of Jones Satre & Weimer PLLC, Professor Andrew Whitman of the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, E&O insurance expert Curtis Pearsall of Pearsall Associates Inc., Roy Little, President and CEO at Insurance Educational Association and Matthew Marrone defense attorney with Goldberg Segalla in Philadelphia.

The book provides E&O loss control insight and techniques arising from the sales and service of insurance products. The book will address the E&O exposures for agencies during the pre-sale, sale and post sale periods addressing issues such as the legal duties of both the agents and their customers, education of both the staff and customers, account review, Exposure Analysis Checklists and the power of a signed application. AOA is partnering with a third-party provider to obtain continuing education accreditation for the project, which will serve as a platform for the creation of E&O loss control webinars and seminars.
AOA is actively partnering with insurance companies and insurance associations and organizations, which can use this valuable resource with their insured’s or members and to assist in decreasing the number and severity of E&O claims.
