Responding to growing interest in breast density and demand for its Volpara™ objective breast density measurement software, Matakina International today announced the expansion of its sales force with the appointment of medical imaging industry veteran Steve Moseley.
“With extensive experience with some of the industry’s leading breast imaging and women’s healthcare companies, Steve is a tremendous addition to the team and our ability to provide world class service to our growing customer base,” said David Mezzoprete, Vice President of Sales for North America. “Based on his extensive experience in breast imaging, Steve immediately adds to our ability to expand adoption of this critical piece of breast health information for patients with dense breast tissue.”
Moseley brings more than 25 years in the medical imaging market with a major concentration in breast imaging and women's healthcare. Prior to joining Matakina, Moseley held sales and marketing management positions with leading companies including Lorad (now Hologic), Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Fischer Imaging, and Quantum Medical Imaging. While at these companies, Steve has served as an integral part of the launch of the Lorad M-4, StereoGuide, and many other products in mammography and digital x-ray.
Cleared by the FDA, HealthCanada, the TGA and CE-marked, Volpara is in use at sites across the globe helping radiologists assess breast density more objectively and helping them better consider who might benefit from additional screening. Volpara is a reliable tool which generates objective, automatic measurement of volumetric breast density and an FDA cleared BI-RADS breast density category. Volpara supports most of the major digital mammography systems, can be displayed on digital mammography and PACS workstations and be integrated into mammography reporting systems.
Founded to enable radiologists to give women the most accurate information possible regarding their breast health, Matakina International, Limited is the wholly owned sales and marketing arm of Matakina Technology Limited of New Zealand. Volpara’s founders and Board of Directors includes John Hood, PhD, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford, UK, Ralph Highnam, PhD, former CEO of Mirada Solutions, one of the University of Oxford’s most successful spin-outs of recent times and co-author of the seminal book Mammographic Image Analysis; and Professor Sir Michael Brady, a serial entrepreneur who recently retired from the University of Oxford where he was Professor of Information Technology for 25 years.
