Since Edge Studio recently made the move to a larger studio facility, many people and organizations have been using it as a meeting space. Edge Studio has the philosophy that members of the voice over community should always feel welcome in their studio, and should network and share ideas in a comfortable, non-threatening setting. When they were contacted by Women in Animation, they were quick to offer their studio space to host the meeting.
Women in Animation is a non-profit, professional organization that was created to foster a community of women who are involved in the animation industry and the arts in general. People with interest in these areas flocked to Edge Studio to get more information about voice over in animation. Edge Studio is the perfect place to share information about this topic, due to the fact that they produce animated projects, cartoon soundtracks, talking toys, video games, game apps… on a regular basis and have coaches and directors who specialize in voice over for animation. With the help of a trained coach, a voice over student can create a marketable character/animation voice over demo and then learn how to successful market that demo with the current animation trends.
At Edge Studio, there is a ready supply of well-known character voices, including Disney character voices, and many well-trained new talent who are making themselves heard in the world of animation voice over. Companies such as Marvel Comics, Nintendo, Lego, and Nickelodeon have utilized Edge Studio’s talent and resources to create animation projects. Along with animation, Edge Studio also offers full scale production services in all genres of voice over.
Owner and director of Edge Studio, David Goldberg said, “It was a pleasure hosting Women in Animation. It’s always a positive experience when we bring like-minded people together.” While Edge Studio has worked with some of the biggest names in the animation world, they are always thrilled to work on new, independent, animation projects.
