Folding Carton Printing and Converting Company Turns to Epicor for Increased Estimating Efficiency

Epicor Software Corporation

“The Epicor AVP estimating software will help us create estimates quickly and more accurately than before,” said Greg Smith, president at Printed Specialties.

Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, today announced that Printed Specialties Inc., a folding carton printing and converting company, has chosen to replace its existing estimating software system with the Epicor AVP, formerly Solarsoft aVP*, estimating software module.

Based in Carrollton, Ga., Printed Specialties offers creative retail packaging and packaging services to its customers. The company currently uses separate accounting, estimating and management information systems. As the first step in consolidating its systems to improve efficiency, information accuracy and costing control, Printed Specialties will implement the estimating module of the Epicor AVP product packaging software.

“We feel that good estimating capabilities drive the rest of the business,” said Greg Smith, president at Printed Specialties. “The Epicor AVP estimating software will help us create estimates quickly and more accurately than before.”

According to Smith, the decision to choose the Epicor solution was driven by the Epicor team’s flexibility and commitment to deliver a solution that fit Printed Specialties’ needs.

“Rather than pushing us to purchase the full system up front, Epicor took the time to understand what we wanted and tailored a solution that worked for us,” said Smith. “As a growing company we want one integrated system that is easy to use, has a clean user interface, and provides access to all the information we need, when we need it. With the AVP estimating software in place, we’re setting the foundation to eventually implement the full AVP system.”

“We are delighted to provide Printed Specialties with estimating software designed specifically for packaging manufacturing,” said Andy Armitage, vice president of operations, packaging systems division for Epicor. “AVP will provide Printed Specialties with better control of their costing, and more flexible estimating capabilities. The ‘what-if’ scenarios ensure that Printed Specialties can offer their customers the best product and price possible.”
