Planet Fashion TV talks to Alex Darzenta, the owner of the trending active wear line DA Active, about what’s new for the company

Women want to be comfortable in their activity

DA Active is a brand that made a big mark in lifestyle and active wear apparel in 2012. Since launching a year ago the brand has steadily become a cult favorite with yoga masters, and yoga and fitness bloggers. They’ve been featured on several top fashion sites including Planet Fashion TV.Com. The reason for the brand’s rising popularity is their highly technical fabrications paired with a strong fashion design.

The company has announced an expansion on that theme for 2013. Alex Darzenta, the brand’s creator says that the brand will continue to focus on comfort and style. The brand has many new pieces and colors in their active wear line for 2013. They will soon have some menswear pieces as well. A main goal of Darzenta’s has been to make fitness clothing that goes beyond the gym. “Women want to be comfortable in their activity, they want to look cute, and they want to be able to wear it anywhere.” Says Darzenta.

Darzenta created the line out of her own personal love for the active lifestyle. The name DA stands for “Do It Again” meaning keep going, or never give up, a great moniker based on the owner. A young entrepreneur , fitness buff and avid horsewoman, Darzenta had an understanding of the rigor and durability of the apparel that she wanted to create. “The clothing centers around a certain lifestyle.” It’s for a person who is chic, busy and expects quality. She wanted to make it possible for women to leave the gym, run some errands, and go straight to dinner without having to stop home and change. “That is why the braded tank is our biggest seller, you can even wear it for a nice night out.” Darzenta didn’t just create a fitness line, she created a ready to wear fashion line, for fitness. DA Active is great for looking fashionable at different times, whether people are out for a run, going to the supermarket, or just hanging out with someone special.

Darzenta, who resides on Cape Cod, works with a design team out of Australia, to give women a fashion line that is fairly priced, comfortable, and stylish. She gets to the heart of this clothing line by talking to other women and fashioning each product to the specific desires of her target market. Utilizing various patterns and colors, Darzenta and her team create tops, bottoms, jackets, and accessories that appeal to the fashionista that is always on the go.

Darzenta’s clothing is made up of three fabric types, Daclon, Veraloe-E, and Stretch Lace. This trio combines all the necessary ingredients for a happier and more productive fitness enthusiast. Daclon is used in Darzenta’s classic active wear, and is composed of Polyamide and Lycra. The immense perks that come from this combination of materials lie in its ability to breathe and wick moisture.

The DA Active Veraloe-E underwear is a blend of Pima Cotton and Lycra and is infused with Aloe Vera and Vitamin-E. Stretch lace is used in the DA Active Panteez underwear line which includes a “one size fits most” thong, a boyshort and a v-cut bikini.
