When we begin with a mindset of health, we view our lives very differently.
Chandler, AZ (PRWEB) February 27, 2013
Natasha Deonarain, MD, MBA, author of The 7 Principles of Health: Your Call to Health Consciousness announced today a new healthcare delivery concept called the “health-centric™” model. This concept is based on a primary shift away from America’s mindset of disease and toward embracing the idea that everyone is in optimal health, regardless of their disease-labels. People are then encouraged to operate from this new mindset, which empowers them and supports their health practices. They can then create their own optimal health networks of practitioners linked through the online site and include behavioral therapists, fitness coaches, bio-energetic healers, acupuncturists and many more. Doctors primarily trained in disease, remain at the periphery of this model, and fully collaborate across all specialties and fields with the individual’s best interest as a key focus, rather than external motives for profit.
“The entire healthcare system in America has incentives which are built upon a disease-focused mindset,” states Dr. Deonarain. “We need to take a look at our fundamental belief system and the start point from which we operate. Health is not simply the absence of disease, as we’ve come to believe. It’s much more than that and our healthcare delivery systems need to reflect this concept accurately.”
Deonarain has created multiple social media sites which have brought together a community of individuals and practitioners who seek to learn much more about this exciting paradigm for healthcare delivery. Through these sites, she and other professional collaborators are able deliver easy-to-understand ideas which serve to reshape healthcare delivery for the future, and help to remove some of the out-dated ideas imbedded in our current system.
“When we begin with a mindset of health, we view our lives very differently,” she says. “What happens is, despite our diseases, we learn to find optimal health simply by practicing health, and not frantically working backwards to prevent disease. The long-term outcome is much more effective than our current quick-fix mentality which so-far, has primarily failed us.”
More information on Dr. Deonarain’s health-centric™ model is found in her upcoming new book The 7 Principles of Health: Your Call to Health Consciousness and will be available on Amazon after April 6, 2013. To pre-order a copy, please visit the website at http://www.health-conscious.org. Proceeds from this book during the month of February 2013 will go to supporting The Gladys T. McGarey Medical Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting this same paradigm of health delivery.
