This Thursday, 21 February 2013, London's Nomad Chef Secret Restaurant has a new book on its menu. "The Wheel of Creativity: Taking Your Place in the Adventure of Life" by Katherine Robertson-Pilling has its UK launch.

Life is a creative adventure. The Wheel of Creativity is the compass for the journey.

"The Wheel of Creativity: Taking Your Place in the Adventure of Life" by Katherine Robertson-Pilling will make its UK launch at The Nomad Chef Secret Restaurant on Thursday, the 21st of February. The launch party, in keeping with the book’s theme, will give fellow adventurers a port in the creative storm, and inspiration to live their personal creative adventures.

In Helen Keller’s famous words, “Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.” "The Wheel of Creativity: Taking Your Place in the Adventure of Life" offers readers a compass for the adventure. The ultimate creative adventure is being alive. Far deeper than the work of a professional elite or the amateur pastime of the masses, creativity is a force as natural as breathing. Either we learn to allow it to flow, or it costs us our lives. This book, available now on Amazon, is helping people around the world to live the creative adventure. People such as:

  •     Amy Blake, opera singer: “A fabulously well-written, concise help mate for anyone's journey on this wheel of life.”
  •     Diane Lydon, events producer: “There’s a shift that occurs that never goes away. You have absolutely, positively changed my life.”
  •     Deborah D’Alessandro, business coach: “What an amazing and powerful piece of literature.”

“In the Autumn of 2001 as my relationship, my home and my job all evaporated, I left the USA on a six-week solo tour of Europe,” says Katherine. “Two weeks later, in the aftermath of September 11, the world stopped in its tracks. I stopped with it, in the South of France. I swam in the Mediterranean, made friends with strangers, sketched and wrote. As weeks turned to years, I made a dramatic discovery, at the intersection of The Hero’s Journey and The Artist’s Way. It was a new application of an ancient invention, used throughout history to describe the journey of life. It was the Wheel of Creativity.”

All new books deserve launch parties. This one is special because the location is a secret until the guests are committed. It is an invitation to leap into the void. “Difficult transitions in life are creative launch pads,” Katherine proposes. “They often require us to let go of all we think we know in order to discover and create something new. There is something very fitting about finding one’s way to an unknown location, encountering strangers there and discovering something new along the way.” Canapés will be prepared by the Nomad Chef.
