We want to give our customers the power to choose the option that works best for them.

MaxWest Environmental Systems, Inc. is now offering customers the option to own the biosolids gasification system, in addition to the original DBOO (design, build, own and operate) model option previously offered. The gasifier, available as a capital equipment purchase, can be fully integrated into an overall biosolids management system. “We want to give our customers the ability to choose the option that works best for them and to give them the opportunity to own and operate the system,” says Chief Marketing Officer Jeff Snyder.

As part of the capital equipment purchase option, customers will receive the gasifier feed system, the MaxWest gasifier, the cyclone and the option to purchase a process heater. These components integrate with the client’s dewatering equipment, drying system, heat exchanger and other components to form a fully integrates on-site biosolids disposal system, as demonstrated at the fully-integrated biosolids management facility at the South Sanford Water and Wastewater Treatment Facility in Sanford Florida.

The decision to offer the gasifier as a capital equipment sale comes after the successful completion of the MaxWest Second Generation System. The initial system was completed in 2009 with commissioning of the second generation gasifier in 2012. The MaxWest gasification system continues to process biosolids from Sanford and neighboring communities, while continually incorporating mechanical improvements to further enhance operational performance.

About MaxWest Environmental Systems, Inc.
MaxWest operates the only commercially-proven, dedicated biosolids gasification facility in the United States. The facility has served commercial customers since 2009, processing over 23,000 wet tons of biosolids. The proprietary biosolids gasification system applies a thermo-chemical conversion of the wastewater residuals to generate thermal energy. This renewable energy is then recovered to reduce or eliminate other energy sources, providing energy savings and biosolids destruction for customers.

The MaxWest Biosolids Gasification System offers a safe, cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional biosolids management options: incineration, landfill, and land application. The disposal of biosolids is a growing burden on communities due to stricter permitting requirements, increased landfill tip fees, volatile energy prices, and high transportation costs—all of which create cost uncertainty. The MaxWest technology provides a sustainable and cost-effective biosolids management option and reduces the inlet volume by over ninety percent.
