This launch provides a mobile window-to-the-world for Android users and will enable even more great content to be added to our collection of globally-viewed moments.
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 19, 2013
Building on the success of its free iPhone app, Moment.me, a company that offers the easiest way to capture and share an experience in real time, today launched a free Android version in the Google Play Store. Moment.me brings together all the public photos, tweets and videos that crowds at live events post to social networks and presents them in an interactive and ever-evolving shared album.
Moment.me’s proprietary smart-matching technology does all of the work to gather and organize live social content, making it easy and enjoyable to view shared experiences through the eyes of friends, family and others in the crowd. Moment.me aligns with all users’ individual social network privacy settings, ensuring that only public content is added to publically-viewed moments, and all private content is protected in privately shared albums.
Like the iPhone app, the new Android version automatically creates moments, but also features several options highly requested by users to create and curate their own moments. The new “Start a Moment” feature gives Android users the option to actively start and name a moment; invite friends to contribute photos, tweets and videos to the moment; apply special photo filters through the app; and upload images directly to the moment from their Android device – so users can have all their friends’ photos at hand in real time.
With the release, Android users will also enjoy existing iPhone features including automatic feeds of their personal moments, their friends’ moments, moments happening nearby in real time, and popular trending moments happening all over the world. While the Android app provides the option to take photos and apply filters with an in-app camera, users can continue to take photos with whatever camera they desire and use their favorite social networks and photo-sharing services including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Picasa, Flickr and Google+.
The Android version comes after Moment.me’s significant content growth over the past six months. Since launch, Moment.me has scanned 1.6 billion images on the web, collected images from 200 million people from 7 million different locations worldwide and created 150 million moments – with hundreds of thousands of new daily moments.
“Our users have provided tremendous and positive feedback since we launched last year,” said Ronny Elkayam, CEO and Co-Founder of Moment.me. “As our growth accelerates, and the platform continues to evolve, we’ve listened carefully and integrated some of this feedback into our new Android version. This launch provides a mobile window-to-the-world for Android users and will enable even more great content to be added to our collection of globally-viewed moments.”
“Never fear, iPhone users,” added Elkayam. “We plan to add our new features to the existing iPhone app in the near future and will continue to listen and work hard to provide the best experience for users across all platforms.”

Launched in 2012, Moment.me offers the easiest way to capture and share an experience in real time. The company’s smart-matching technology, called HintMachine, is the only tool that collects multiple points of view from different people and platforms and turns out of context digital assets into meaningful moments. Moment.me’s mission is to bring together a complete set of digitally captured moments including photos, videos and tweets that make up an experience and present them in an ever-evolving collection.
