Hispanic Business Community Experience Offers Fresh Perspective on Boardroom Diversity

CiCi’s fresh perspective can help refine the strong business case calling for boards of directors that are diverse in thought, gender and nationality.

ION is pleased to announced that CiCi Rojas is now the board director representing Member Organization Central Exchange. Recently elected President and CEO of the Kansas City, Missouri organization, she has held executive roles in business and political advocacy. Ms. Rojas has been publicly recognized for her achievements in the Hispanic business community and as an exemplary role model for women and girls.

“CiCi’s extensive experience leading community and advocacy organizations will be a valuable asset to ION. Her fresh perspective can help refine the strong business case calling for boards of directors that are diverse in thought, gender and nationality,” said ION President Sarah Meyerrose.

Currently, Ms. Rojas is vice president of community engagement for Truman Medical Centers (TMC) where she pursues innovative revenue opportunities for service and sustainability. Previously, she assisted diverse businesses as an executive for the Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in Dallas, Kansas City and Washington, D.C. In 2009, Ms. Rojas was named the Minority Corporate Business Advocate of the Year by the Dallas Business Journal. She is a recipient of the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award presented by the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as the Girl Scouts’ Pearl Award for her exemplary professional and community achievements. An active member of her community, she serves on the boards of the Heartland Women’s Leadership Council, Metropolitan Community College’s Foundation, the BATS Exchange Listing and Hearing Review Council, among others.

ION recently published its Ninth Annual Status Report, which profiles 11 corporations that have made boardroom gender diversity a high-priority business initiative and have enjoyed operating and financial success. During her time on the ION board, Ms. Rojas will continue to connect ION and its members with other leading corporations and likeminded executives in the Kansas City region.
