It's still early when Roberto sets foot inside the offices of Tareasplus. He's here to coordinate his team of professors, engineers and as well as the production of new video tutorials for the Tareasplus.com website. He begins his morning with co-editor Carlos Herrera by checking on the 60+ tutorials which where made in the last 24 hours. Some of the tutorials include rich and complex subjects such as basic concepts of collisions and impulse, volumes of solids of revolutions, or how was the earth first measured in 235 B.C.
Roberto made 10 video tutorials the evening before and has been doing so for the last two years, every day from 6 pm until 2 am. His effort and dedication has paid off and Spanish-speaking students now view his videos more than 50,000/day (that is 1.72 lessons every sec) . Tareasplus’ library of more than 2500 free videos engage students with concise and comprehensive lessons. These courses expand classroom learning and demonstrate an enormous desire for unlimited access to materials by students who benefit from the repetition of a particular concept or lesson.
Others students prefer accessing Tareasplus via mobile devices such as the iPad, iPhone or Android phones and tablets through the app that has become one of the Top 50 most downloaded educational apps in Latin America.
The video tutorials on Tareasplus have been viewed more than 7.5 million times and many students from calculus and differential equations have passed these subjects thanks to the extensive tutorials that Roberto has developed in these areas. Roberto not only creates the videos but also responds and answers questions personally from the approximately 80 comments received daily via the YouTube channel.
This combination of excellent tutorials, the use of technology, and tireless desire to aid learning students has made Roberto Cuartas, an industrial engineer from Medellin, Colombia, the most well-known Spanish-speaking calculus and differential equations teacher from Latin America
