Thomas L. White III shares a collection of poems about salvation, redemption, humility, strength and faith in “Healing of a Divided Soul” (published by AuthorHouse).
“Healing of a Divided Soul” touches on the daily struggles familiar to many; the failures and breakthroughs of life; the dark demons and angelic spirits that can hold battle within one’s soul. White found himself facing that type of internal discord and became determined to break the chains of the past that had been holding him back.
White’s catharsis took the form of writing poetry, and his subject matter is both deeply personal and relatable to readers from all walks of life. He writes openly and honestly about a troubled childhood, the prison system, gang violence, the drug epidemic and those torn between striving for good and dancing with the devil.
An excerpt from the poem, “The Circle of Dust”:
In this world even Jesus got rained on! So expect
to get wet at times in your life. Depending on how
you choose to view your rainy days, determines
whether the rain helps you to grow … or drown!
“No matter how dark life seems, God will give you no more than you can handle, we all have a God given gift and if the focus is on God your gift will shine,” White writes.
