I want readers to learn about handling solutions by compromising of party opinions and adjusting laws a few years later.

In “The United States – An Old-Fashioned Country?: A European immigrant's impressions of his new home country” (published by AuthorHouse), the new book by Werner Neff, readers are treated to a look at United States culture through the eyes of a Swiss immigrant.

As an immigrant in the U.S., Neff has a unique perspective on culture in the U.S. He describes daily life in the U.S., focusing on the details of language, behavior and manners issues he encounters. He goes on to analyze the social institutions and what he sees as the many political problems of today. Finally Neff offers many suggestions and comparisons to Switzerland, hoping to guide readers to making deeply positive changes.

An excerpt from “The United States – An Old-Fashioned Country?”:

“It is inevitable that throughout my writing, I will touch on the two countries, the United States and Switzerland (and, at times, Europe). I will compare them and find differences and similarities. Despite their respective sizes, they are alike in many ways, from their institutional organizations, to the configuration of social security, all the way to the inner values of successful democracies. However, there are just as many laws and rules that are very different. I am utterly surprised by my findings.”

With his unique, European perspective, Neff hopes to help readers see culture in the U.S. through a new lens. “I want readers to learn about handling solutions by compromising of party opinions and adjusting laws a few years later,” he explains.
