Wil Wheaton stars in a voice-controlled, real-time strategy game like no other.

There Came an Echo

Iridium Studios, developer of the critically acclaimed Sequence, has announced its second title. There Came an Echo is a voice-controlled squad-based strategy game, and to ensure an exceptional level of quality, Iridium has gone out to its fans to ask for help. A Kickstarter campaign has been launched, and Wil Wheaton has signed on to the project.

“This is mildly bizarre title,” said Jason Wishnov, CEO of Iridium Studios. “Traditional methods of funding for something like this aren’t quite feasible, and we believe that fans should be more directly involved in the development process. Also, Wil Wheaton is cool. Did we mention him?”

Contributing to the game are three talented musicians: YouTube star Ronald Jenkees, industry veteran Jimmy Hinson, and the ethereal vocalist, Judith de los Santos. The game features a heavy emphasis on a narrative-driven, single-player experience; the player communicates to various units on the field via speech recognition technologies.

Iridium Studios is one of the first studios to launch a second Kickstarter campaign, Sequence having been funded via Kickstarter back in 2010. They’re happy to return to the popular crowdfunding platform once again.
