Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) February 19, 2013
Texas Governor Rick Perry has announced that Tenaris, a global manufacturer of steel pipe products, will be building a new factory in Matagorda County. The $1.3 billion investment in the state will result in 600 jobs. The Luxembourg-based company’s investment is yet another sign that the Lone Star state is successfully attracting businesses.
Texas is also providing $6 million in support through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) to close the deal on this factory. Gov. Perry’s trip to Italy last year and his meeting with the company’s top officials is said to have contributed to the firm’s decision to invest in Texas.
Tenaris already has its North American headquarters in Houston and the factory is going to be built in Bay City, the main city in Matagorda County.
