Delivers more accurate and comprehensive data set for Energy Analysis

This joint initiative is a real step forward for the future of Energy Analysis and a Sustainable Built Environment

Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), a provider of integrated performance analysis software and consulting services for sustainable building design and operation, today announced their joint initiative with Weather Analytics to make local and recent weather files more accessible to IESVE users. Weather Analytics provides comprehensive real historical weather data ranging from 33 years, to on-demand current conditions, to accurate hourly seven-day forecasts.

IESVE users can now access local data from within 35 kilometers of sites throughout the world. This will allow users to make use of a much more comprehensive data set for energy analysis.

Having access to the right weather data is increasingly important for predicting energy performance in buildings. VE users can now create much more detailed and relevant energy simulations from the accurate, robust and quality local data provided by Weather Analytics.

Weather Analytics has amassed weather data that is collected, aggregated, cleansed and delivered in a way that is reliable, replicable and customisable. It makes comprehensive global weather data uniquely and directly accessible for analytics, decision support and control systems. Getting better answers the first time round can save time, money and resources.

“This joint initiative is a real step forward for the future of Energy Analysis and a Sustainable Built Environment, says Don McLean, Founder and CEO, IES. “With the comprehensive, real weather data provided by Weather Analytics, designers will be able to use this to make more accurate decisions throughout the whole design process from conceptual design to operation.”

“Weather Analytics is pleased to make available our weather data warehouse to an international market that demands precise weather intelligence, and to work with such an innovative and leading edge partner in IES,” says Bill Pardue, CEO of Weather Analytics, LLC.

VE users can purchase the weather data in convenient bundles, which include:

  •     Historical, gap-free, hourly climate data
  •     Current conditions and forecasted weather data
  •     Modeling and simulation climate data (TMY and AMY)

Historical, current and forecasted weather conditions for anywhere in the world are available for download at http://www.iesve.com/support/weatherfiles.
