It’s important that we all remember that people in our own hometown need help
Palm Harbor, FL (PRWEB) February 19, 2013
Did you know that blood or blood products improve, sustain or save more than 500 Tampa Bay and Northwest Florida lives each day? (1) Because of blood drives held by companies like Nationwide Title Clearing Inc. (NTC), paired with Florida Blood Services (FBS), approximately 14 million units of whole blood are donated each year (1). To continue to support community members in need, NTC, a large Palm Harbor employer, is calling on the public to help exceed the amount of blood collected in previous drives and set a new record of 55 pints. This year, NTC’s 6th blood drive will be held on March 15, 2013, from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM at their local offices (2100 ALT 19 North, Palm Harbor, FL 34683).
NTC has hosted several blood drives through FBS. In the Tampa Bay area, 38 hospitals and 80 ambulatory care centers in Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough and Manatee counties depend on FBS for whole blood, as well as other blood products and services.
Each year, NTC tries to increase the amount of blood donated by way of their blood drives. One of the reasons NTC has been able to do this is their expansion in 2012—NTC added 130 employees in 2012, and 56 in the last quarter alone. Even though their business is performing land records research and document processing services to residential mortgage servicing companies across the country, executives of NTC believe that it’s important to give back to their local community.
FBS collects more than 750 pints of blood every day. Nearly 80 percent of the blood it collects is donated on their bloodmobiles, portable units and express units, which is why blood drives like those held by NTC are important.
“It’s important that we all remember that people in our own hometown need help, and through charities and blood drives such as those sponsored by NTC, we are doing something about it,” commented John Hillman, CEO of NTC. “Having the blood drive right here on our premises is an incentive for our employees to take a break from work and donate.”
This year, NTC is also inviting local businesses and residents in Palm Harbor to participate in the blood drive on their campus on March 15th. To donate blood on March 15th at NTC, please contact Janice Rush at Janice_Rush(at)nwtc(dot)com.
