By adding two new categories, the Telematics Update Awards are truly reflective of the ever-expanding telematics space.

The new categories have been designed to recognize the Telematics market’s global expansion in emerging markets, as well as the rapidly expanding insurance telematics sector. Any company can nominate themselves or a partner for a Telematics Update Award. There is no cost to enter and there is a simple nomination process via the website (http://www.telematicsupdate.com/detroit/awards-index.php). The deadline for nominations is Monday, March 18.

Telematics Update Managing Director, Precksha Saksena-Sood has commented that the Telematics Update Awards truly mirror progression in the automotive telematics industry. “By adding two new categories, the Telematics Update Awards are truly reflective of the ever-expanding telematics space. Launching products into new markets is a time-consumptive and risky process. Our awards can help emerging companies gain much-needed recognition on a global scale.”

The brand- new categories for 2013 are:

Best Telematics Product or Service Launch in an Emerging Market (BRIC Region)

Best Insurance Telematics Product or Service Launch

Roger C. Lanctot, associate director of the Global Automotive Practice at Strategy Analytics supports these additional categories: “It is important for Telematics Update to recognize the unique role that emerging markets play in incubating new connected vehicle technologies. And insurance companies deserve to be recognized for the essential role they play in facilitating the deployment and adoption of new connected vehicle technologies and ownership models.”
