Nationally recognized leader in broadcast PR, Lyons Public Relations, has added two new staff members while expanding its suite of services. Tapped to head up its expanding television and video practice, Mark Edwards joins Lyons PR as director of TV & Video Services, and Cherise Adkins joins as account executive.
In addition to its existing broadcast PR and video production services, including radio media tours, satellite media tours, online video features and public service announcements, Lyons PR has recently expanded its offerings to include online streaming, social media video chats, and b-roll production and distribution.
“These are all services we’ve been providing to select clients for quite a while, and with the addition of our new staff, we can now roll them out and offer on a wider scale,” says Lyons PR President Dan Lyons. “Both Mark and Cherise bring a tremendous wealth of TV and PR experience with them—the perfect combination for a broadcast PR firm.”
A seasoned veteran of both broadcast public relations and broadcast journalism, Mark Edwards comes to Lyons PR after serving most recently as vice president at KEF Media, where he led the media relations team and served as an executive producer. Prior, Edwards served as vice president of media & communications for the U.S. Pro Golf Tour. Before making the jump to PR, Edwards compiled a journalism career spanning more than 18 years where he served as sports director, lead sports anchor, and news anchor at stations including WVLT in Knoxville, WDSI & WRCB in Chattanooga and WTIC in Hartford. During his television career, Edwards earned 10 first-place Associated Press Awards, two ADDY Awards and was twice nominated for an Emmy.
Cherise Adkins joins Lyons PR from the Washington, D.C. office of Edelman Public Relations, where she assisted in the development and implementation of communications programs for high-profile clients including Kaiser Permanente, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare and PepsiCo. A veteran of TV newsrooms, Adkins brings nearly a decade of broadcast experience to Lyons PR after serving as news producer for stations including WTTG in Washington, D.C. and WJZ in Baltimore.
