Employing responsive web design, the company’s developers made the site's content easier to read and interact with on today's mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.
Buffalo Pride Week is now in its 22nd year and has recently expanded to offer even more events for members and supporters of WNY's LGBTQ community. Algonquin Studios is proud to be a sponsor of the event and the Center's mission to make our region a safe, healthy, and satisfying place for LGBTQ people to live, work and establish their families. The new, responsive site will serve to keep attendees, sponsors, and vendors up-to-date on all Festival-related activities leading up to Pride Week.
“We are extremely pleased with the end product, and there’s no way that we could have done it without Algonquin’s technical expertise and attention to the customer experience,” said Patrick Butler, IT Implementation Coordinator for Evergreen Health Services. “In my experience in the software/web world, I've rarely seen projects go as smoothly as ours did. That’s a testament to how well Algonquin Studios had us prepared, and how well its developers communicated throughout the project.”
With internet access from mobile devices steadily chipping away at desktop browsing, mobile web design and development are becoming increasingly important to many Algonquin clients and the company’s web developers have found themselves working on more and more mobile projects.
“Improving the usability and accessibility of our clients’ web sites has always been a key deliverable for us,” says Mike Spencer, Algonquin's Web Development Manager. “At Algonquin Studios, we see responsive web design as an extension of our efforts to make content easier to access in more environments.”
Because CSS3 makes creating a mobile-friendly version of a client’s current web site a feasible option for cost-conscious organizations, Algonquin expects to see an increase in clients asking for mobile sites in the near future.
Algonquin has also built mobile sites for other clients including the City of Buffalo, Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, WNYHEALTHeLINK, and Catholic Health System, as well as the mobile versions of the company’s own marketing sites: AlgonquinStudios.com and QuantumCMS.com.
