DePuy ASR Hip Trial

"We hope this blog is useful to the hundreds of clients we represent and anyone else who has a DePuy ASR hip,” said mass tort attorney, Stuart Talley.

Amid the major buzz surrounding the first defective hip case against DePuy, Inc to reach trial, mass tort attorney, Stuart Talley of Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff, launches a legal video blog to help trial watchers stay up-to-speed on the key developments in the case.

The KCR legal team has gained 24/7 access to daily courtroom events through Courtroom View Network’s live Internet feed. The service gives lawyers here at our firm the ability to view the trial via cameras set up inside the Los Angeles County Superior courtroom.

A great deal of attention is aimed at the trial of Loren Kransky v. DePuy, Inc, BC456086, because his is the first case against the manufacturing giant to reach trial. “This is the first case in the country to be tried to a jury and will likely play in an important role in setting settlement values for the 10,000 other ASR cases that are pending throughout the United States. We started the video blog to help our clients stay up to date on developments in the case but anyone who is interested can view the updates,” said Talley.

Vietnam Veteran Loren Kransky, 65, filed a lawsuit against DePuy alleging he suffered metal poisoning and pain as a result of the defective design of the ASR hip implant he received in 2005. In August of 2010, DePuy Orthopedics announced a worldwide recall of two hip implant systems – the ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System - too late for Kransky and nearly 93,000 ASR hip implants patients who had been implanted with the device worldwide. The suit alleges that the manufacturer knew about the faulty design years before the recall and sought to cover it up for financial gain.

On the video blog, Talley provides commentary and opinions on how the case is developing. “We tried to set this up so that people at home can get a summary of how events developed in the courtroom and we try to give our analysis and opinion on how things went. We hope this blog is useful to the hundreds of clients we represent and anyone else who has a DePuy ASR hip,” said Talley.

The Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff video blog is available on our KCR Legal YouTube Channel, as well as on our Cobalt Chromium Toxicity Resource Center website at Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff is a Sacramento, California based law firm that represents clients in mass tort cases nationwide.
