“The very first Run For The Warriors® was held on Armed Forces Day in 2006 aboard Camp Lejeune. The success of that race is what created Hope For The Warriors®,” Robin Kelleher, Hope For The Warriors® President said. “We are thrilled to host this event for another year. We are honored that friends, families and the entire community comes together to support our brave service men and women. “
In keeping with tradition, this event will begin with an opening ceremony and a singing of the National Anthem. The opening ceremony honors local wounded heroes and families of the fallen. It provides a time to remember those who have given of themselves in the line of duty. Additionally, it serves as a time for the service members who participate to receive just a small piece of gratitude that is unequivocally shared by a nation indebted to their service.
Run For The Warriors® is dedicated to the men and women wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, and families of the fallen. It is a celebration of their strength and resolve and a promise to continue restoring self, family, and hope.
All proceeds will benefit Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit organization that assists combat wounded service members, their families, and families of the fallen. Hope For The Warriors® thanks Presenting Sponsor, Stevenson Automotive, for making this event possible. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
