When a client comes to me seeking a restraining order due to incidences of abuse, I treat the case seriously and vigorously advocate for my client’s position to obtain the best possible results.

A Wallin & Klarich client recently was able to gain a domestic violence restraining order against her spouse after suffering emotional and physical abuse. The client was represented by experienced Wallin & Klarich Riverside family law attorney, Sheldon E. Lee.
“When a client comes to me seeking a restraining order due to incidences of abuse, I treat the case seriously and vigorously advocate for my client’s position to obtain the best possible results. In this case a permanent restraining order against the perpetrator was in the client’s best interest,” said Mr. Lee.
According to Riverside Family Law Courthouse records, the client first sought the assistance of Wallin & Klarich, and family law attorney Sheldon E. Lee, after suffering from both emotional and physical abuse at the hands of her spouse. The case was a difficult one to prove because there had been no prior instances of abuse that had been reported to the authorities. Mr. Lee explained to the client that he understood her situation and would do everything in his power to obtain a permanent Riverside restraining order against her spouse and prevent the abuse from continuing to occur.
Stated by Wallin & Klarich, after the client’s spouse learned of the abuse allegations against him he claimed he had only acted in self defense, and that he had not been the perpetrator of the abuse. By entering in relevant evidence related to the abuse allegations, Mr. Lee was able to show that the self defense claims were without merit. In addition to presenting relevant evidence relating to the abuse, Mr. Lee cross examined the client’s spouse as a witness. Through cross examination, Mr. Lee was able to prove to the family court judge that the spouse was not credible and had made up the claim that he had acted in self defense. As a result, the client was issued a permanent restraining order against her spouse. The permanent restraining order will prevent the client’s spouse from having any contact with the client and from being in the same surrounding area as the client on a permanent basis. The client no longer must live in fear that she will be the victim of emotional or physical abuse at the hands of her spouse.
“When it comes to the area of family law, whether it is a domestic violence restraining order issue, or an issue related to child custody, support, or a long term marriage, I see to it that my clients are appropriately and professionally represented,” said Mr. Lee.
