Jorge Beale, M.D., specialized in Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. He seized on the opportunity to bring the enhanced healing power of hyperbaric medicine to Mount Vernon Hospital, Mt. Vernon, NY, where he ran a wound healing clinic. Dr. Beale served as Medical Director of the Wound and Hyperbaric Center at Mount Vernon Hospital, Mount Vernon, NY. He gave tirelessly of his medical expertise and compassion to assist and heal many of the under-privileged and elderly within his community, often absorbing some, or all, of the associated costs himself. He would heal wounds with a combination of balms, dressings, soothing words, and sympathetic ears; his was the universal language of empathy and compassion. Dr. Beale lived by the phrase, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
In 2008, Dr. Beale passed away.
