On December 19, 2012 - Alexis Jamian of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan was honored by the Governor of the State of Michigan, Rick Snyder with a Tribute for her distinguished work and accomplishments as a Michigan born International Civil Servant for the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
Alexis, a Human Resources Officer, was recruited by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome, Italy in 2008, and has worked in HR and Administration of the UN Agency. Some of her most noted accomplishments include launching an online Oracle based e-Recruitment system, helping to streamline the UN agency’s recruiting practices. To that effect, she traveled to their offices in Africa, Asia, Latin America and North Africa to provide training to international and local staff in those offices. She also led the transformation of their employment website and created a social media presence for employment opportunities in the organization.
Previous to working for the United Nations, she worked as a Change Management Consultant and Trainer for Milan based company Atlantic Technologies, engaging in client CRM projects in Europe and Asia and providing training to clients. Prior to that, Alexis was employed as a Human Resources Manager and Communications Specialist at AmeriCare Medical, an integrated healthcare company based in Troy, Michigan.
With a Bachelors Degree in Communications from Oakland University in Rochester Michigan, and a Masters Degree in Public Management from SDA Bocconi in Milan Italy, ranked among the top 25 Graduate Schools in the world; Governor Snyder also praised Alexis in his tribute for her best practice skills in human resources and information technology. The Tribute was also signed by a Michigan State Senator, and State Representative further commending her achievements.
