Sefaira today announced that its flagship product Sefaira Concept has been acquired by over 100 new Architectural firms world-wide, in the six months following the software’s General Release in July 2012.

Sefaira Concept empowers architects to investigate and incorporate sustainable strategies into their projects from the earliest stages of design. With its web-based, easy to use interface, Sefaira Concept integrates with architects’ design work flow. Architects simply upload their models, and start leveraging Sefaira’s cloud based data driven design platform to analyze hundreds of design options in real-time. For architects, this leads to a design that is optimized for performance and function. Unlike traditional analysis tools which are built specifically for energy modeling professionals, Sefaira Concept allows architects to make good decisions from the very onset of their design process.

“Data-driven design is promising to transform the performance of our buildings” said Mads Jensen, CEO of Sefaira. “We are delighted that 100 leading architectural firms have already adopted Sefaira Concept, and we look forward to working with the industry to continue the all-important work of dramatically improving the sustainability of our built environment”.

Architects are the main target group of Sefaira Concept, and they account for over 90% of user firms. Five of the top ten and eight of the top twenty firms, as ranked by the World Architecture Top 100, have adopted Sefaira Concept to meet their sustainable design goals. Customers include Foster + Partners, Perkins + Will, RTKL, AECOM, Stantec, BDP, as well as leaders in architectural sustainability and emerging forward thinking firms.

"There exists a great disjunction between the tools which create architecture and those which measure its performance.” said Blake Jackson from Tsoi/Kobus & Associates. “Metrics tools are adept at quantification but cannot create, and most architectural software does not harmoniously interface with metrics tools. Sefaira Concept is a single interface that clarifies this issue intuitively, allowing designers the speed and flexibility needed to experiment creatively using tools familiar to the design process. This legibly places the performance impacts of our ideas at the designer’s fingertips early enough so that environmental simulations can inform the overall design process, rather than being an outcome of it.”

Sefaira enables architectural firms to understand their building’s potential performance and demonstrate their sustainability credentials from the first pen stroke, thus help create a greener built environment.
